Chelsea faced neighbours Fulham in what was a crucial game for both sides. With Champions League Football within the grasp of both teams, this fixture was a must-win.

Fulham started the game with much energy. They were the home team, and the crowd was solidly behind them. In a matter of minutes, they had the lead, but it was cancelled for offside.

Late in the first half, they scored again. Sessegnon took the ball from Chelsea captain Reece James and laid a perfect pass to Alex Iwobi, who passed the ball into the far corner beyond Robert Sanchez.

This goal gave Fulham the momentum, and they pressed Enzo Maresca’s men for the remainder of the first half. The Blues barely saw a sniff of the ball before the halftime whistle, and they were lucky to end the half one goal down.

The second half saw a better Chelsea side. They were pushing for a goal, and the substitutions on the stroke of halftime show that they meant business.

The first 20 minutes of the second half were torrid. It was end-to-end stuff, but no goals were recorded. In the 83rd minute, Chelsea drew level. Substitute Tyrique George’s snapshot on the edge of the box beat Leno, who had been exceptional all game.

The Blues were fired up, and they felt like they could take all three points. With 2 minutes of added time to go, they struck again, this time through Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese winger latched onto a pass from Enzo Fernandes and he fired it into the back of the net. His volley into the roof of the net brought the stadium to its knees. Chelsea, from almost nothing, has turned the tie around and moved back within reach of the top 4.
