Chelsea are preparing to offer Marc Cucurella a new contract, solidifying his position as a key player in the team despite interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

Chelsea are set to offer Marc Cucurella a new contract, reflecting his growing importance in the team. The Spanish full-back has been instrumental in Chelsea’s success, particularly in the Club World Cup, where he delivered impressive performances that earned him the trust of manager Enzo Maresca and the club hierarchy.

Despite rumors linking Cucurella to a potential move to Al-Nassr, Chelsea have made it clear that they have no intention of selling him.

In fact, the club has not engaged in any negotiations with Al-Nassr and is focused on securing Cucurella’s long-term future. With two years left on his current contract, Chelsea wants to tie him down to a longer deal to prevent any potential transfer speculation.

Cucurella’s versatility and tactical discipline have made him a vital part of Chelsea’s first-team squad. He offers options as both a traditional left-back and an inverted full-back in Maresca’s system, and his consistency has been a dependable factor in an otherwise transitioning back line.

The 26-year-old joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 in a deal worth up to £62 million and has since become an integral part of the team.

Chelsea’s decision to offer Cucurella a new contract is a testament to his hard work and dedication.

The club views him as a key player and a leader in the dressing room, and his experience and adaptability are highly valued. Cucurella’s ability to fit into Maresca’s system, which demands positional intelligence and composure in possession, has been particularly impressive.

The Blues are also looking to bolster their defensive options, with Ajax teenager Jorrel Hato among their long-term targets. However, any additions are not expected to threaten Cucurella’s place in the squad, as Hato is considered more of a central defensive option. This move would provide depth and flexibility to Chelsea’s back line, allowing them to compete at the highest level.

Cucurella’s performances have undoubtedly earned him a new contract, and it’s exciting to see how he will continue to contribute to Chelsea’s success. With his talent, leadership, and adaptability, he is set to remain a key player for the Blues in the coming seasons.
