Chelsea Football Club has initiated negotiations with midfielder Moises Caicedo regarding a new and improved contract, amid interest from Real Madrid.

Chelsea Football Club has started discussions with midfielder Moises Caicedo over a new, more lucrative contract. The Ecuadorian midfielder has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid, but Chelsea is determined to retain him.

Caicedo, 23, is seen as one of the most important players in the squad, and Enzo Maresca has described him as “world-class”. His current deal expires in 2031, with Chelsea having an option to trigger a one-year extension.

The new contract would not necessarily add time to his existing deal but would likely include improved terms, such as a higher salary or a new bonus structure. Caicedo currently earns around £175,000 per week with bonuses.

Chelsea is eager to secure Caicedo’s future, given his importance to the team. He has been instrumental in their success, including their Conference League and Club World Cup wins.

Despite interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea is in a strong position to withstand any offers, with Caicedo’s current deal expiring in six years. The club is confident in retaining him and is willing to offer improved terms to keep him happy.
