It wasn’t the reunion Graham Potter hoped for as his former employers Chelsea humiliated West Ham in a 5-1 victory.

Chelsea ran out winners in a six-goal showdown against West Ham United at the London stadium. Chelsea played a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on the opening weekend and they needed a win to kick things off.

Everything that went wrong last week, went right this time. Despite going behind after a thunderous strike from Paqueta, the Blues kept their cool and under 10 minutes, they were level after a goal from João Pedro.

The Brazilian would turn provider in the 23rd minute as he assisted Pedro Neto to put Chelsea in front. From that moment, it was all Chelsea. The Blues were on a scoring spree.

Enzo Fernandez added another goal in the 34th minute after a beautiful passage of play to make it 3-1 to Chelsea at halftime.

In the second half, the Blues picked up where they left off. Two poorly defended corners gave Caicedo and Chalobah a chance to get their names on the scoresheet, rounding up a 5-1 victory for Chelsea.

For West Ham fans, this is a day to forget but for Chelsea fans, the season has just begun.
