Chelsea lost a two-goal lead vs Leeds at Stamford Bridge, effectively ending a game they once controlled in a 2-2 draw.

What looked like a routine win for Chelsea turned into one of the most thinkable things Chelsea have done this season.

With Chelsea hot in form since Rosenior took over, winning all their Premier League games under him, hosting Leeds at home felt like it would be a routine fixture. And it started out that way. Chelsea were smooth, sharp, and succinct in their play. They were nearly perfect, and they deservedly took the lead through Joao Pedro, who fired home from close range after a line-breaking pass from Cole Palmer.

Chelsea had multiple chances to see off the game in the first half, just like they did against Wolves, but Joao Pedro and Palmer just failed to find the back of the net.

Chelsea would, however, get their second goal through Palmer, who scored from the penalty spot, making it his fourth goal in two games for the Blues.

After scoring, the energy from Chelsea dropped a game that felt very easy to pull off a win suddenly felt easy to lose as Leeds began to grow into the game. The Whites were rewarded with a penalty after a reckless challenge from Caicedo.

Nmecha wasted no time in putting it into the back of the net, condemning Chelsea to another game without a clean sheet.

With Leeds just one goal behind, Chelsea needed to ramp up the energy, but cracks kept showing in their performance as the time ticked away. Leeds eventually equalized through Okafor after a defensive lapse from Chelsea.

In a matter of minutes, Chelsea had thrown away a two-goal lead.

Going into the final minutes of the game, it did look like Chelsea would get another dramatic goal, but the most shocking event of the night happened in the final minutes. After a well-worked passage of play, Caicedo fizzed the ball across goal, finding Palmer in space, and with the goal gaping, the Englishman hit it over the bar.

It was literally the last kick of the game, and it would’ve rescued Chelsea from a shambolic second-half performance and put them within touching distance of Aston Villa but it was just not to be.

Rosenior was fuming with his team at full-time, and he would be hoping for a better reaction next time out.
