Chelsea fans will be disappointed with their team after conceding in the latter stages of the game to draw 1-1 against Burnley.

Chelsea missed a chance to move close to Aston Villa and even hook themselves to a temporary top-four spot as they played out a 1-1 draw against Burnley.

Chelsea went ahead in the fourth minute, with Joao Pedro bundling the ball home from close range. It was his 11th Premier League goal for the Blues, surpassing his personal best of 10 goals. It was also his 5th goal in six games.

However, after the goal, Chelsea weren’t exciting or creative. They were reduced to a bunch of half-chances by Burnley. Palmer had a chance to put the game to bed, but his shot was calmly saved.

With Blues failing to kill the game off, Burnley started to get into their groove. They were handed a boost when Fofana was sent off in the 72nd minute. Fofana’s red card is Chelsea’s 6th red card in the Premier League and 8th in all competitions this season.

Burnley kept the pressure, and in the dying minutes of the game, the pressure paid off. After coming close multiple times, Burnley finally drew level in the 93rd minute of the game, dealing a huge blow to Chelsea’s top-four hopes. The Clarets almost went ahead a few minutes later, but Larsen’s header just went over the bar.

Following this draw, Chelsea have dropped a league-high 19 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season. They have also failed to beat any of the newly promoted sides at home.
