Chelsea suffers a fresh injury blow as Enzo Fernandez is forced to leave Argentina’s camp due to a right knee issue.

Chelsea have more injury concerns after Enzo Fernandez was forced to leave Argentina’s camp due to a problem with his right knee.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has been instrumental in Chelsea’s success this season, was in action for Argentina during their 1-0 friendly victory over Venezuela on Friday. However, he was substituted in the 78th minute and subsequently withdrew from the squad due to synovitis in his right knee.

Fernandez’s injury is a significant blow to Chelsea, who are already dealing with a number of midfield injuries. Cole Palmer, Dario Essugo, and Andrey Santos are among the players sidelined with injuries, and Fernandez’s absence will further limit Enzo Maresca’s options in the center of the pitch.

The Argentine Football Association confirmed Fernandez’s withdrawal, stating that he would return to London for further assessment and treatment. Chelsea’s medical team will evaluate the extent of the injury and determine his availability for upcoming matches.

Fernandez has been a key player for Chelsea this season, starting all of the team’s Premier League games and scoring three times. He has also worn the captain’s armband in several matches, including against West Ham United, Fulham, and Brentford. His absence will be deeply felt by the team, particularly in their upcoming matches against Nottingham Forest and Ajax.

Chelsea’s schedule is packed with crucial matches, and Fernandez’s injury couldn’t come at a worse time. The Blues face Nottingham Forest on October 18, followed by a Champions League match against Ajax on October 22.

The extent of Fernandez’s injury is still unknown, and Chelsea’s fans will be anxious to get an update on his condition. Given his importance to the team, Maresca will be hoping that the injury is not too serious and that Fernandez can return to action soon.
