Chelsea’s transfer pursuit of Jamie Gittens remains a priority, despite Bayern Munich’s entry into the race for the Borussia Dortmund winger.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Jamie Gittens is still very much alive, despite Bayern Munich’s recent interest in the Borussia Dortmund winger.
The Blues have already agreed on personal terms with the 20-year-old, offering him a seven-year contract; however, a deal between the clubs has yet to be finalized. Dortmund’s asking price of £50m remains a sticking point, after Chelsea’s initial bid of £42m was rejected two weeks ago.
Bayern’s interest in Gittens is no surprise, given their recent failure to sign Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for £100m plus £16m in add-ons.
However, Chelsea are undeterred and still sees Gittens as their top target. They hope to secure his services ahead of the new season, ideally in time for the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s own player Nicolas Jackson is not for sale, despite links to Juventus and Napoli.

Jackson’s recent red card in the Club World Cup defeat to Flamengo may have raised some concerns, but Chelsea has no plans to sell him. The £30m signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich earlier this month doesn’t change Jackson’s status, and he’s expected to play a significant role next season.
Chelsea’s determination to sign Gittens is clear, and they’ll look to overcome the obstacles in their path. With their sights firmly set on the young English winger, they’ll aim to finalize the deal soon.
