Plus: Los Blancos to face old foes Manchester City and Pep Guardiola once more
Liverpool old boy Trent Alexander-Arnold will visit Anfield perhaps a bit earlier than he expected, after Real Madrid drew Liverpool in the Champions League group phase.
The draw, held in Monaco on Thursday, pitted the two sides and ensured the blockbuster will be played early into this season.
Madrid will travel to Merseyside for one of their eight matches of the group phase. Towards the end of Alexander-Arnold’s stay at Anfield, he was booed by his own fans due to anger over his controversial departure on a free transfer to Madrid.
Los Blancos are also set for another intense clash against old foes Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, whom they will welcome to the Bernabeu. Other intriguing fixtures are meetings with Juventus in the Spanish capital and Benfica in Portugal.
