Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have pulled out of Cameroon and Slovenia’s squads respectively for March’s international breaks, after concerns over their fitness.

Mbeumo went off after 71 minutes during United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Friday. He was initially called up to represent Cameroon but United have now confirmed his withdrawal as a precaution, ruling him out of upcoming friendlies against China and Australia.

Sesko also stepping away from international duty following reports that he has been managing an unspecified issue for several weeks. He will miss his country’s friendlies against Hungary and Montenegro. The decision to drop out is understood to be purely precautionary.

Both forwards will have three weeks to rest as United do not have a game in the week after the international window, having been knocked out of the FA Cup. However, supporters will hope they are fit for when domestic action resumes. Sesko and Mbeumo are joint-top (10) of United’s scoring charts this season.

In more positive news, right-back Noussair Mazraoui has recovered from illness in time to link up with the Morocco squad for fixtures against Ecuador and Paraguay. Barring any other setback, he will be ready for the club’s next game against Leeds in April.
