After back-to-back wins against Tottenham and Chelsea, Arsenal seem to be back in form, a form that they must continue when they play Brighton during the week.
Arsenal have now won two games on the bounce, with both games being London derbies. The Gunners now sit five points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League table, having played one game more. In the game against Chelsea, they once again weaponized corner kicks, which is something Brighton will be wary of when they face the Gunners.
Brighton are back in the fight for a European spot after securing back-to-back wins in the Premier League. The Seagulls beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 last week with former Arsenal player Danny Welbeck having the final say in the game.
Brighton are yet to win three games in a row this Premier League season and they could be pursuing that when they take on Arsenal on Wednesday.
Team News
Arsenal’s win over Chelsea did not come without sacrifice, as midfield maestro Declan Rice was spotted in clear discomfort during the second half before being withdrawn, and his condition will be assessed in the coming hours.
Martin Odegaard (knee) and Ben White (knock) are also doubts ahead of the game.
Hosts Brighton may also have to make one enforced change to their starting lineup, as Mats Wieffer could not complete the full 90 against Forest, so Joel Veltman could be drafted into the right-back slot.
Wieffer is one of four fitness concerns for Hurzeler alongside Yasin Ayari – on the verge of his return from a shoulder problem – and long-term absentees Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas, both of whom are out for the season with knee injuries.
