Arsenal will be looking to do the league double over Brentford as they continue their push for the Premier League title.

Arsenal continue their push for the Premier League table when they play Brentford on Thursday. This game against Brentford begins a sequence that will see the Gunners play four games in ten days.

Coming into this game with a six-point lead at the top after beating Sunderland 3-0, Arsenal will be pushing to get all three points, especially given that Manchester City are in action before them. After playing Brentford, Arsenal will be in action six days later against Wolves, ending their double gameweek in the Premier League.

Brentford are a team in form at the moment. After beating Aston Villa 1-0 despite being a man down, the Bees fought until the final whistle to earn a 3-2 win over Newcastle last weekend.

Brentford will be looking to put up a better performance than they did last time out against Arsenal and potentially add more spice to the title race. If Brentford win against Arsenal, they could leapfrog Liverpool into 6th place and have a real push for a UCL spot.

Team News

Merino is still out after his foot surgery, and with Saka and Odegaard absent from Arsenal’s last 2 games, they aren’t expected to be in action this week.

Brentford will miss Schade as he serves the second of a two-game ban for his sending-off at Villa, while Reiss Nelson cannot face his parent club.
