Brennan Johnson is weighing his options after Tottenham accepted a £35 million bid from Crystal Palace.

Johnson’s time has had limited playing time at Spurs since doubts surfaced in early December, and now his career at the club seems to be edging towards an abrupt conclusion.

Johnson’s situation became open after Palace made contact, and an initial valuation of £45 million was communicated. Spurs are willing to accept Palace’s £35 million bid, indicating they’re open to letting Johnson go, considering his contract runs until 2028.

The club has doubts about Johnson’s alignment with their ambition and style, and he’s been made aware that his future is no longer guaranteed. Despite this, Johnson has shown willingness to fight for his place, but now he must consider his options seriously.

Palace’s situation is uncertain, with Oliver Glasner’s future unclear and question marks surrounding key players. Johnson is also waiting to see if other clubs will firm up interest. Bournemouth and Everton are in the frame, with at least one other Premier League side monitoring the situation.

Johnson’s Spurs career has taken a dramatic turn, just seven months after scoring the winning goal in their Europa League triumph. An exit now appears increasingly imminent, with Spurs likely to take a £12.5 million hit on the player.

Thomas Frank, Spurs’ manager, expects Johnson to play against Brentford on New Year’s Day, despite the transfer rumors. Frank has emphasized Johnson’s importance to the team, but his playing time has been limited this season.
