Pushing for a spot in the last 16, Borussia Dortmund will host Atalanta in the first leg of their UCL knockout clash.
With both teams finishing outside of the top eight, Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta know that they can’t deliver subpar performances when they meet on Tuesday.
Atalanta come into this game as one of the most in-form teams in Serie A, especially off the back of a 3-0 demolition of Juventus in the Coppa Italia. They also finished two places higher than Dortmund in the league phase, and they’ll be hoping to replicate the form that saw them beat Chelsea and Marseille once again.
Dortmund, on the other hand, are the most in-form teams in the Bundesliga, racking up six wins from their last six games. They have also closed the gap between themselves and Bayern Munich, serving up a title race that could go down to the wire.

Dortmund began their UCL campaign in electrifying fashion, playing out a 4-4 draw against Juventus on the opening night, but that fire slowly wore out and was quenched after back-to-back defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan.

Dortmund would be relying on their blistering form as a confidence boost to go past Atalanta.
Team News
Dortmund will be without the defensive duo of Schlotterbeck and Süle, which means the backline would be shuffled and a bit out of shape against a very threatening Atalanta. Kovac will be hoping the new defence line he assembles can do the job tomorrow.
Atalanta don’t have new injury news, but they will be without key man Charles De Ketelaere due to injury.
