Borussia Dortmund members are set to vote on a proposal to change the club’s logo, reintroducing the traditional crest used from 1974 to 1993.
Borussia Dortmund members are gearing up to make a decision on a potential logo change. The club’s general assembly, scheduled for November 23, will discuss a proposal to reintroduce the traditional crest used from 1974 to 1976 and again from 1978 to 1993.
The proposed logo features a thicker black outline around the “BVB 09” circle and a slightly darker shade of yellow compared to the current logo. Interestingly, the traditional crest is already being used on Dortmund’s cup kit this season, giving fans a glimpse of what could be.
The proposal was put forward by BVB member Sam-Joel Renken, who believes the traditional crest is more elegant than the current one. Renken’s proposal has been officially added to the agenda for the general assembly, and it’s now up to the club’s members to decide.
The decision on the logo change rests solely with the members, who will vote on the proposal at the general meeting.
If approved, the traditional crest will become the official emblem of Borussia Dortmund, marking a new chapter in the club’s history.
