Yves Bissouma has described Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League semi-final victory over Bodø/Glimt as the best win of his career, but he remains focused on achieving even greater success in the upcoming final against Manchester United.

Reflecting on the semi-final, Bissouma stated, “It was the best night of my life because I qualified for the final of the Europa League.” He also noted the rarity of such opportunities, noting, “It’s not every time you have a chance to play a European final. I don’t want to wake up.”

Under manager Ange Postecoglou, Bissouma has experienced a new breath to his playing career. After a challenging first season at Spurs, he credits Postecoglou’s supportive approach for his improved form, describing him as “like a dad, uncle, friend for us” and highlighting the confidence the manager instils in his players.

In the semi-final matches, Bissouma’s performance was instrumental. He ranked joint-top for shots and possessions won in the defensive third, and was among the top four for tackles, interceptions, and possessions won in the midfield third. His contributions were important in Tottenham’s 5-1 aggregate win over Bodø/Glimt, showcasing the team’s tactical maturity and defensive organization.

Looking ahead, Bissouma is determined to maintain this momentum. He acknowledges the importance of the upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa as a confidence booster before the Europa League final, stating, “We know we have to win. It’s an important game for us before the final.”

As Tottenham prepares for the final in Bilbao, Bissouma’s journey from a challenging debut season to becoming a key player under Postecoglou underscores his resilience and commitment to the team’s success.
