The summer transfer window just closed and will be open again on Monday. We look at the biggest transfers that happened in this period.
The summer transfer window was divided into two because of the Club World Cup, and it has closed for now. Interestingly, Premier League clubs have spent nearly half a billion pounds on transfers, while some top talents have crossed borders.
The news from the transfer window indicates that there is more to come in the next few weeks. However, before the transfer window reopens on Monday, here’s a recap of some of the biggest transfers that have happened.
The opening transfers of the transfer window were Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid. Trent leaving Liverpool was inevitable, and just days into the transfer window, we had confirmation of him leaving his boyhood club.

Liverpool signed his replacement in Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, while second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher also left Liverpool for Brentford. Brentford were also in the news as Mark Flekken joined Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent transfer.

Chelsea joined the party by signing Ipswich striker Liam Delap. In the Premier League, Manchester City have made a lot of signings as well in a bid to rebuild their squad. Guardiola has added Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders to his squad ahead of the new season.

Manchester United have also made a new addition to their squad by securing the signature of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Bayern Munich have seen Eric Dier join Monaco while adding Jonathan Tah to their roster. Before the close of the window, Jobe Bellingham secured a move from Sunderland to Borussia Dortmund.

The biggest drop ahead of the opening of the second transfer window is Liverpool’s agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz. Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal worth £150m plus add-ons for the German superstar. It is expected that the deal will be closed in the opening days of the second transfer window.
This first half has been a busy one but there are indications that the next window will be a more intense one. For fans whose clubs haven’t signed any players, the hope is that they can get a deal done and quickly.
