The 19-year-old defender has been on Bayern’s radar since last summer, and their interest in the Chelsea prospect has not faded. Despite Bayern’s admiration, Chelsea were reluctant to part ways with Acheampong during the previous transfer window, viewing him as an important part of their long-term plans.

However, the German champions are now believed to be considering a more concrete approach, with a potential move being discussed ahead of the summer transfer window. There is also speculation that Bayern could attempt an earlier move, with a possibility of submitting an offer before the current winter transfer window comes to a close.

Bayern’s interest is partly driven by their injury problems in defence, with Acheampong’s versatility making him an attractive option, as he is capable of operating across multiple defensive roles.

So far this season, the England youth international has made 17 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, logging 942 minutes of action and scoring one goal.
