Lennart Karl, the 17-year-old Bayern Munich sensation, has dropped a bombshell, stating he “definitely” wants to sign for Real Madrid someday.
Lennart Karl has been a revelation for Bayern Munich this season and his rise to fame has been meteoric, breaking multiple Champions League records and scoring thrice in the Bundesliga. He has established himself as one of the biggest young talents in football.
But despite all this Karl says that if he has his way, he might not be at the German club for too much longer. “Bayern is a huge club. It’s a dream to play there. But at some point, I definitely want to go to Real Madrid. That’s my dream club.”
Karl’s comments show he’s a big, confident character off the pitch too. Vincent Kompany has made the youngster a first-team regular this season, and he’s already scored three goals in 13 Bundesliga games, plus another three in four Champions League matches.
However, his statement might upset some at Bayern Munich. It’s rare for players from top clubs to speak openly about their future, often out of fear of backlash from their current teams.
Real Madrid actually scouted Karl back when he was just 10 years old, and he even had a trial at the Santiago Bernabeu. It’s unclear if they’ll make a move for him, but Karl’s comments have certainly sparked interest.
Only time will tell whether Karl’s dream eventually comes true. With his contract running until 2027/28, Bayern might have to start thinking about their next move.
