Bayern Munich broke a historic Bundesliga goal record with a 5-0 win over St. Pauli, as Jamal Musiala and Leon Goretzka shine in a dominant performance.

Bayern Munich continued their march toward the Bundesliga title with a commanding 5-0 victory over St. Pauli, breaking a long-standing league goals record in the process. The win also extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches.

Playing between two crucial UEFA Champions League fixtures against Real Madrid, manager Vincent Kompany rotated heavily, making seven changes to his starting lineup. Despite that, Bayern quickly found their rhythm.

The breakthrough came in just nine minutes when Konrad Laimer delivered a precise cross for Jamal Musiala, who powered home a header past Nikola Vasilj. That goal saw Bayern match their long-standing Bundesliga scoring record.

They soon had opportunities to break it, with Michael Olise missing a clear chance by dragging his shot wide. Musiala also came close to doubling the lead but was denied by the inside of the post after a well-worked move involving Joshua Kimmich and RaphaΓ«l Guerreiro.

At the other end, Bayern had to stay alert defensively. Kim Min-jae produced a crucial block to deny Mathias Pereira Lage, while Manuel Neuer dealt comfortably with a header from Joel Chima Fujita as the visitors led 1-0 at halftime.

St. Pauli started the second half with intent, and Andreas Hountondji tested Neuer after a strong run. However, Bayern quickly regained control and extended their lead in decisive fashion.

The record-breaking goal arrived when a Joshua Kimmich free-kick was flicked on, allowing Leon Goretzka to volley home Bayern’s 102nd league goal of the season. Moments later, Olise added another with a composed finish from the edge of the box.

Bayern continued to dominate, with Nicolas Jackson eventually getting on the scoresheet after being set up by Musiala, before Guerreiro capitalised on defensive hesitation to complete the rout late on.

The victory marked Bayern’s eighth consecutive win in this fixture, while St. Pauli’s struggles continued with a fifth match without a win. A late effort from Connor Metcalfe was the closest the hosts came, but Bayern’s record-breaking night underlined their dominance once again.
