Bayern Munich considers signing Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku after Nick Woltemade’s deal fell through, with Chelsea open to a permanent sale only.
Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart has hit a roadblock, and the German champions are now reportedly considering an alternative target. According to reports, Christopher Nkunku is one of the main names on Bayern’s shortlist.
Nkunku, a versatile attacker who can play in various positions, has attracted interest from several clubs this summer.
A move to Bayern Munich would appeal to Nkunku, who has struggled to find his footing at Chelsea. The 27-year-old has been linked to several clubs, including Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. Bayern’s interest in Nkunku is driven by his ability to cover multiple attacking positions, making him an ideal player to strengthen their squad.
Chelsea, however, are only open to a permanent sale for Nkunku. The Blues have already made several signings this summer, including Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, and Joao Pedro. They are also working on deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, but these transfers will require further sales to progress.
The potential deal for Nkunku is contingent on Chelsea’s ability to balance their books. The club has dropped their asking price for Nkunku to £43.3 million, down from £60 million in January.
Bayern Munich had previously shown interest in Nkunku, but their attention shifted to Woltemade. With the Woltemade deal faltering, Bayern may now refocus on Nkunku.
