Bayern Munich’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen says it’s ‘too early’ to discuss a contract extension with Harry Kane, despite the England captain’s impressive form this season.
Bayern Munich are in no rush to extend the contract of their star forward Harry Kane, according to club boss Jan-Christian Dreesen.
The England captain is currently under contract until 2027, but reports suggest he could activate a release clause by winter, allowing him to move next summer for a fee of €65 million.
Dreesen told the media that it’s “simply too early in the season” to discuss a contract extension with Kane. “We will discuss it at the appropriate time,” he added. For now, the Bayern CEO is simply enjoying Kane’s remarkable form this season, with 19 goals in 11 games.
“It’s a pleasure, really a pleasure,” Dreesen said. “If someone had told us that Harry would improve from season to season, we probably would have paid even more.” Kane’s impressive performances have been a key factor in Bayern’s success this season, and the club is keen to keep him happy.
Kane’s release clause is reportedly set at €65 million, which could be activated next summer. This has sparked interest from several clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Kane has expressed his happiness with Bayern and doesn’t appear to be interested in leaving soon.
Despite the speculation surrounding Kane’s future, Dreesen is focused on the present and is enjoying the England captain’s contributions to the team.
With Kane’s contract set to expire in 2027, Bayern will likely wait until the appropriate time to discuss a potential extension.
