Betis also interested in Antony but Leverkusen are in a much stronger financial position to sign him

Bayer Leverkusen are keeping tabs on Manchester United winger Antony, with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly interested in reuniting with the Brazilian at the BayArena.

Leverkusen’s recruitment department is evaluating Antony as a potential replacement for star playmaker Florian Wirtz, who could be headed to Anfield this summer. However, the club’s interest is only at a preliminary stage, according to Sky Germany.

Antony played under Ten Hag at Ajax and was signed by the Dutchman for United in 2022 for an £80 million fee. While the winger’s form took a nosedive in Manchester, his recent loan spell at Real Betis has revived interest across Europe. The 24-year-old registered nine goals in 24 starts across all competitions, helping fire the Spanish club to the UEFA Conference League final and re-establishing himself as a credible attacking threat.

Betis want to retain the player, with fans and teammates demanding that he should stay, but the club’s financial limitations make a deal difficult to do.

Leverkusen are in a much stronger position to secure Antony’s signature on a permanent deal. Juventus are also reportedly in the frame, with the Turin-based club having tracked the player since the start of 2025. However, they are yet to make a formal approach and are still weighing their options.
