Move will help La Liga champions to register their new signings this summer
Barcelona forward Pau Victor is close to finalising a permanent move to Portuguese side Braga.
The deal is expected to be worth €12m upfront and a further €3m in performance-related add-ons.
Victor has four years remaining on his contract at Camp Nou but is set to leave in search of regular playing time. With Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres already ahead of him and Marcus Rashford arriving on loan from Manchester United, first-team opportunities were expected to be limited under head coach Hansi Flick.
Barcelona are also eager to move players on in order to reduce their wage bill. With the club’s current expenditure on salaries, they are unable to register new players including Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford.
The proposed move for Nico Williams collapsed earlier this month because he was not sure whether Barcelona could register him and the club refused to accept his demand for an exit clause in case they could not.
Victor is not the only young player to leave Barcelona this summer, as Pablo Torre, Alex Valle and Ansu Fati have all also left the club, although Fati only joined Monaco on loan.
Victor joined Barcelona from Girona last summer and made 29 appearances in all competitions last season, although most of these were as a substitute.
