Atalanta stunned Eintracht Frankfurt with a five‑minute second‑half barrage, netting three times to win 3‑0 at Deutsche Bank Park.

Atalanta came out firing after a goalless draw with Napoli, and Eintracht Frankfurt felt the pressure early. Fares Chaibi’s 11th‑minute shot forced Marco Carnesecchi into a brilliant save, and Robin Koch’s header three minutes later flew wide, setting the tone for a frantic opening.

The first half saw Atalanta finally test Michael Zetterer in the 26th minute with a tame Davide Zappacosta effort. Ten minutes before break, the woodwork twice denied Frankfurt – Ademola Lookman’s strike hit the post, and Gianluca Scamacca’s rebound struck the same spot, keeping the score 0‑0.

The second half kicked off with similar intensity. Zetterer sprinted out to stop Lookman, but the Bergamo side soon unleashed a five‑minute blitz. On the hour mark, an unmarked Lookman volleyed Charles De Ketelaere’s dinked cross into the net.

Two minutes later, Lookman turned provider, threading a defence‑splitting pass for Ederson to slot under Zetterer. The silence turned deafening when De Ketelaere hammered home the rebound after Scamacca’s effort hit the bar, making it three goals in five minutes.

Frankfurt tried to respond, but Zetterer kept them alive with a 69th‑minute save on Berat Djimsiti’s header, ending Atalanta’s devastating spell on a high note. The win was well‑deserved, yet Atalanta remain outside the top eight on goal difference.

Now they must replicate that clinical edge on matchday six against Chelsea at home to secure a Round of 16 spot.

For Frankfurt, the nightmare deepens with just one win in five UCL games and a second consecutive 3+‑goal home defeat, casting doubt on a repeat of their 1959/60 European Cup final run.
