Atalanta has rejected Bayern Munich’s bid for Ademola Lookman, stating that they only want a permanent sale.
Atalanta has turned down Bayern Munich’s proposal for Ademola Lookman, a paid loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. The Italian club insists on a permanent sale, valuing Lookman at around €50 million. Bayern’s proposed option to buy for €28 million is deemed too low.
The rejection comes after Inter Milan’s €42 million plus €3 million bonus proposal was also turned down. Atalanta had promised Lookman he could be sold this summer, but only to a club outside of Italy. This restriction led to the rejection of Inter’s offer and now Bayern’s proposal.
Lookman has been training separately since returning from a couple of weeks where he went AWOL in protest. His future remains uncertain, but Tottenham and Galatasaray are emerging as potential suitors. Both clubs are reportedly prepared to buy him outright, meeting Atalanta’s demands.
Bayern Munich’s interest in Lookman stems from their sudden need for a new striker after Nicolas Jackson’s loan deal fell through due to Liam Delap’s hamstring injury. The German champions require a reliable forward to partner with Harry Kane.
Tottenham’s interest in Lookman is part of their efforts to bolster their squad. With Xavi Simons recently joining the team, Lookman could add depth and versatility to their attacking lineup.
As the transfer window deadline approaches, Lookman’s future hangs in the balance. Atalanta’s insistence on a permanent sale and their valuation of the player will be key factors in determining his next destination.
