Chelsea and Atalanta are level on points in the UCL table and both teams face off in a must-win game.
Chelsea made a statement in the UCL after beating Barcelona 3-0 but over the past week, they have been unable to translate that form into the Premier League as the Blues lost 3-1 to Leeds and then drew 1-1 to Bournemouth.
Atalanta have also been touch and go in terms of results. They played an uninspiring goalless draw with Slavia Prague before losing 3-1 to Verona in the weekend.
Both clubs will be looking to turn their fates around when they face off in the UCL.
Team News
Chelsea have new injury concerns with Delap going off injured against Bournemouth with Maresca stating that the injury is worse than it first looked. Guiu was a good replacement and he could start against Atalanta.
There’s more good news for the Blues as Moises Caicedo whom they have visibly missed due to a red card suspension in the Premier League will return against Atalanta.
Atalanta came out of their defeat to Hellas Verona with no worries on the injury front, but Kamaldeen Sulemana (muscle) and Mitchel Bakker (ACL) are unavailable this week.
