Atalanta has appointed former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino as their new manager after sacking Ivan Juric.

Atalanta has appointed Raffaele Palladino as their new manager, with a contract until June 2027. The 41-year-old Italian coach was announced as the club’s new boss on Tuesday, a day after Ivan Juric was sacked following a 3-0 home loss to Sassuolo.

Palladino, who was previously in charge of Fiorentina, will be tasked with turning around Atalanta’s fortunes after a winless run of seven league games. The club currently languishes in 13th place, with just two league wins this season, trailing leaders Inter Milan by 11 points.

Palladino’s appointment marks a new chapter for Atalanta, who are looking to bounce back from their poor form. The Italian coach has experience in Serie A, having led Fiorentina to a sixth-place finish last season and earning a Conference League spot.

Palladino began his managerial career at Monza, where he helped the club to 11th and 12th place in his two years in charge. He then joined Fiorentina last season, leading the club to their best league position since 2016.

Despite his success, Palladino’s style failed to win over Fiorentina’s fans, and he left the club by mutual consent at the end of the season. Atalanta will be hoping he can bring a new energy to the team and improve their fortunes.

Palladino’s first game in charge will be against fourth-placed Napoli on November 22nd, after the international break. Atalanta will be looking to get back to winning ways and start a new chapter under their new manager.
