Aston Villa secured Axel Disasi on a loan deal from Chelsea during the January transfer window, and the move felt like a good one as the French defender made an immediate impact at Villa Park. 

Despite his impressive performances, reports indicate that Villa has no current plans to pursue a permanent transfer for Disasi. The loan agreement does not include an option to buy, and Villa are covering the entirety of his wages during the loan period.

Disasi’s move to Villa came after limited playing time at Chelsea, where he found himself behind other options in the defensive pecking order. Villa manager Unai Emery was instrumental in bringing Disasi to the club, reportedly making personal calls to persuade him to join.

Since arriving at Villa, Disasi has become a key figure in the team’s defense, contributing to their push for European qualification. However, with no obligation or option to buy in the loan deal, his future beyond this season remains uncertain.
