Former PSG coach Unai Emery and loanee Marco Asensio didn’t get the return they hoped for as Aston Villa suffered a 3-1 defeat to PSG at the Parc de Princes.
Unai Emery was formerly at the helm of things at the Parisian club. In his time at PSG, he won one league title, two Coupes de la Ligue and two Coupes de France.
His success at the club was, however overshadowed by the famous 6-1 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League in 2017.
Marco Asensio, who is currently on loan to Aston Villa from PSG, witnessed firsthand the 3-1 thumping from his former club. Asensio, who has rediscovered himself, scoring 8 goals in his last 8 games was unable to produce anything for his current team, Aston Villa.
PSG were firmly in control and soured the evening for Asensio and Emery, who would’ve hoped for a different result. Asensio and Emery will now focus on the return leg, hoping to turn things around.
