Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has downplayed his team’s impressive run, stating they’re “far from perfect” ahead of Sunday’s crucial match against Manchester United.

Arsenal are looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table, currently seven points ahead of United.

Arteta’s concerns come as United has shown renewed intensity under interim manager Michael Carrick, who led them to a 2-0 win over Manchester City last weekend. “We expect a tough match, but we will adapt to that for sure,” Arteta said, acknowledging the challenge ahead.

Arsenal is dealing with injury concerns, particularly with Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie, who are yet to be declared fit for Sunday’s match. However, both players have been spotted in training.

Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyokeres are competing for a starting spot after impressing in the Champions League win over Inter Milan.

Arteta praised the duo, saying, “We were waiting for that with the amount of games that are coming up, and they are all going to have opportunities and minutes.”

The manager also addressed Ethan Nwaneri’s loan to Olympique de Marseille, stating it’s an opportunity for the teenager to gain experience in a challenging environment. “It’s going to make so much good,” Arteta said.

Despite being unbeaten in their last 12 matches and winning all seven Champions League games, Arteta insists Arsenal has room for improvement. “We are doing a lot of things right, but we are far from perfect,” he said.
