Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is confident his team can finally win the league title after investing over £400m in a squad that has evolved and matured.
Mikel Arteta believes his Arsenal team has “gone to another level” this season and is ready to challenge for the league title. The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League and have a strong squad, with a mix of experienced players and young talent.
Arteta praised his team’s versatility and depth, saying, “We’ve gone and increased the numbers and certainly the quality and, within that, the versatility of this team.” He highlighted the additions of players like Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, and Eberechi Eze, who have brought experience and winning mentality to the squad.
The Arsenal manager is confident that his team’s experience and maturity will help them handle the pressure of the title race. “It does help,” he said, referring to the players who have won major honors before. “When you have that belief that you can do it, and you’ve done it, and you’ve sensed the journey and the key things that you have to master to actually do it, I think it’s very important.”
Arteta is also optimistic about the future, with young players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and William Saliba leading the way. He believes the squad has a strong foundation and is well-equipped to handle the challenges of the title race.
Arteta also spoke on the scare against Wolves, saying, “We almost threw away three points, but we rescued the situation at the death. It’s because we know the margins in this title race are razor-thin.”
Arsenal’s next challenge is the trip to Everton, and Arteta is focused on taking it one game at a time. “We’re going to do it,” he said, referring to the team’s chances of winning the title. “You can see the way the team competes and the way the individuals have evolved and matured. That’s something that takes time to get into that position.”
