Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham at the Emirates Stadium pushes them to the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over West Ham at the Emirates Stadium was a resounding success, with the Gunners claiming the top spot in the Premier League table. The win was a reflection of  the team’s determination and resilience, and Mikel Arteta was thrilled with his team’s performance.

“Very happy,” Arteta said in his post-match press conference. “We knew it would be a tough match. Three games in seven days and two very intense games before this. Very happy.”

The victory was all the more sweet for Arsenal, given their recent history against West Ham. The Gunners had lost their previous two matches against the Hammers at the Emirates Stadium, but they were determined to turn the tide.

“When we played Newcastle, we said we had to learn from the past and the scars we had in that stadium,” Arteta said. “Today as well, we lost the previous two at the Emirates (against West Ham) but we won today and fully deserved it.”

Bukayo Saka was one of the standout performers for Arsenal, scoring the second goal of the game from the penalty spot. The win marked Saka’s 200th Premier League appearance for the club, and he was understandably proud of the milestone. “It is a beautiful feeling,” Saka said in an interview with BBC Match of the Day. “A big achievement as well, so I am very proud.”

Saka’s goal was just one of many impressive displays from the young winger this season. Arteta praised Saka’s consistency and willingness to learn, saying, “It’s exceptional what he’s doing at his age. The impact he has on those matches it’s very difficult to do, and I’m very happy for him. He’s super consistent and willing to learn constantly. He finds ways to find goals. He will grow and become more mature. Hopefully, he’ll keep impacting the team.”

The victory over West Ham was a significant one for Arsenal, and the team will look to build on their momentum during the international break.

Despite some injury concerns, Arteta is confident that his team will continue to push for success. “We go into the international break in a good place in the Premier League and Champions League,” Saka said. “It has been a strong start to the season. We’ve had some tough games, particularly away. We are in a strong place in the Premier League and looking forward to coming back and pushing on.”
