Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will continue their push for the Premier League title when they face Sunderland this weekend.

Arsenal are six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and they can increase that lead to nine if they beat Sunderland on Saturday.

Sunderland played out a dramatic 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out and the Gunners will want to avoid a repeat of that game.

Returning from a 4-2 aggregate win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-final and having booked a final against Manchester City, Arsenal will return to the Premier League looking for their fourth straight win across all competitions, as well as a new Premier League record as they are unbeaten in 43 successive top-flight home games against newly-promoted clubs, the joint-longest streak in the competition since 1992 alongside Chelsea, from 2001 to 2015.

Team News

Although Arsenal have seen Havertz return from a long spell on the sidelines, their medical room is filling up again as Merino is out with a foot injury while Odegaard is nursing a little knock.

Le Bris doesn’t have any new injury concerns. The only downer for him is that former Arsenal player Granit Xhaxa will miss a return to the Emirates as he’s still nursing an ankle injury.
