As Arsenal prepare to host Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium this evening, manager Mikel Arteta is expected to make several changes to his starting lineup.

With a crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain looming, squad rotation is essential to maintain player fitness and performance levels.

The Gunners are dealing with a series of injuries that have sidelined key players. Gabriel Magalhães, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho remain unavailable, limiting Arteta’s options in defence and midfield. However, there is positive news as Thomas Partey is expected to return to the squad, providing much-needed depth in midfield.

Given the tight schedule and injury concerns, Arteta may opt to rest some of his regular starters. Bukayo Saka, who recently returned from a three-month layoff, might be given a break to prevent any recurrence of his injury.

Similarly, captain Martin Ødegaard could be rested to ensure his availability for the upcoming European fixture. Young talents like Ethan Nwaneri and Miles Lewis-Skelly may be given opportunities, while Ben White could start after returning from injury.

Despite the focus on the Champions League, Arsenal remain second in the Premier League standings.

A win against Bournemouth would help them maintain their position with City closing in on the gap and maintain momentum heading into the crucial European clash. Arteta’s challenge lies in balancing the need for squad rotation with the imperative of securing three points in the league.
