Arsenal are now six points clear at the top, but the win against Bournemouth didn’t come easily.

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 3-2 win over Bournemouth, but it was another torrid night where the Gunners could’ve easily drawn or gone behind.

Both teams gave it their all from kickoff, but Arsenal quickly found themselves behind when Gabriel’s wayward pass fell straight to the feet of Evanilson, who hit it first time into an almost empty net.

Arsenal, however, pulled themselves level through Gabriel, who redeemed himself from close range. Madueke’s sprint and skill gave the Bournemouth defense a lot of trouble, and his pass into the box wasn’t properly cleared by the Bournemouth defence. The ball fell to Gabriel, who hit the ball with venom to pull the Gunners level and make up for his earlier mistake.

The rest of the first half was end-to-end football, but despite the chances created by both teams, the half ended 1-1.

The second half began in style as Declan Rice, who just returned from injury, scored six minutes after the resumption of play to give the Gunners the lead.

Arsenal kept piling the pressure despite Bournemouth’s fine display, and it was a matter of minutes before Declan Rice added his second of the day and Arsenal’s third, squaring home a through ball from substitute Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal thought they had the game sealed at 3-1, but Bournemouth had other surprises as Kroupi came off the bench to rifle home a powerful shot, making it 3-2. The ending was nervy, but Arsenal held on to win 3-2 and move six points off Villa, who are second, and seven points off Manchester City, who play an Enzo Marescaless Chelsea.
