Arsenal moved into the FA Cup fifth round with a dominant 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the Emirates Stadium, scoring all four goals inside the opening 27 minutes.

Arsenal cruised into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a commanding 4-0 victory against Wigan Athletic at the Emirates Stadium. Remarkably, all four goals arrived within the opening 27 minutes, as the Gunners produced a devastating early display to put the tie beyond doubt before the half-hour mark.

The hosts made history by becoming the first Premier League side to score four goals inside the first 30 minutes of an FA Cup match.

Eberechi Eze responded to recent criticism in perfect fashion, playing a key role in the opening two goals. He first teed up Noni Madueke for a composed side-footed finish, before setting up Gabriel Martinelli, who drilled a precise effort into the bottom corner from the left side of the penalty area.

Bukayo Saka, drafted into the lineup following Calafiori’s injury, delivered a dangerous cross that was inadvertently turned into his own net by Jack Hunt, leaving Wigan’s goalkeeper stranded and securing Arsenal’s third goal.

Minutes later, Arsenal got their fourth as Christian Norgaard slipped a clever pass through to Gabriel Jesus, who showed composure to lift his finish over Sam Tickle, completing a blistering spell that effectively ended the contest before half-time.

After the break, Kepa preserved Arsenal’s clean sheet with a smart save to deny Joe Taylor. On the other end, Gyokeres struck the foot of the post after replacing Saka at the interval. Eze also rattled the side netting, and Martinelli saw a header brilliantly saved.

With a dominant performance, Arsenal moved through to the fifth round of the FA Cup as they continue their push for a quadruple.
