Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya receives a significant pay rise with his new contract deal.

Arsenal has reportedly agreed on an improved contract deal with goalkeeper David Raya, although the club may not make an official announcement.

The 30-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has been rewarded with a substantial pay rise, increasing his weekly wages from £100,000 to potentially over £150,000.

Raya’s impressive performances since joining Arsenal on loan from Brentford in 2023 have earned him a significant wage bump. He made the move to the North London club permanent in 2024, signing a contract that expires in 2028 with an option to extend.

The goalkeeper has been instrumental in Arsenal’s success, winning the Premier League’s Golden Glove award in each of the last two seasons. Raya’s consistency and skill between the posts have been a key factor in Arsenal’s strong start to the 2025-26 campaign, with four clean sheets in seven league games.

Raya’s new deal is similar to Leandro Trossard’s contract extension, which was also agreed upon without an official announcement from the club. Trossard’s deal, which expires in 2027, was renegotiated earlier this summer, reflecting Arsenal’s commitment to rewarding its top players.

The decision to reward Raya with improved terms is well-deserved, given his outstanding performances for the club. With his current contract set to expire in 2028, Arsenal will need to decide whether to activate the option to extend his deal or negotiate a new contract before he turns 33.

This development is part of Arsenal’s efforts to secure the futures of its key players. The club has recently signed several players to new deals, including William Saliba, who extended his contract until 2030. Talks are also underway with Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka, highlighting Arsenal’s commitment to building a strong and stable squad.
