Arsenal are Eberechi Eze’s first choice, and the winger could be part of a swap deal involving Reiss Nelson.

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with the winger being part of a potential swap deal.

The Gunners are understood to be Eze’s top choice, and they’re aiming to swiftly move to secure the player once the deal for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres is complete. Gyokeres is currently in London for his medical, allowing Arsenal to focus on other targets.

Arsenal are hoping to agree a fee of around £60m for Eze, rather than the reported £68m clause. Although there hasn’t been any formal contact between the two clubs, both are expected to be flexible, with good relations between the boardrooms. A deal could be structured in installments, with Arsenal previously considering three payments of £20m each.

The signing is not contingent on Arsenal selling a player first, but the club’s preference would be to do so before completing the Eze deal. Reiss Nelson could be included in any potential swap deal. Eze is reportedly eager to join Arsenal, and the club’s style of play under Mikel Arteta could suit him well.
