The Gunners’ draw to Palace means that Liverpool can win the title with just one point against Tottenham on Sunday

Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. Despite leading twice through goals from Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard, the Gunners were pegged back by efforts from Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The result leaves Liverpool needing only one point to win the Premier League title.

Arsenal started brightly on the night, with Kiwior heading home from a Martin Odegaard free kick in the third minute to give the hosts an early lead.

Eberechi Eze equalised with a stunning volley in the 27th minute, but Trossard restored the home side’s advantage before halftime.

Despite Palace’s emphatic push for an equaliser, it seemed as if the Gunners would be able to claim all three points. However, a late defensive error by William Saliba allowed Mateta to level the score in the 83rd minute with a lob over David Raya.

The draw leaves second-placed Arsenal on 67 points with four games left to play, while Liverpool sit at the top with 79 points and five matches remaining.

An Arsenal loss would have handed Liverpool the title, but now the Reds can clinch it anyway with just one point against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

Both Arsenal and Palace now turn their attentions to crucial cup semi-final ties. The Gunners will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, while Palace face Villa in the FA Cup.
