Arsenal are considering signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig if they can’t agree on a deal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who has a £68 million release clause.

Arsenal has made significant progress in the transfer market, signing several high-profile players, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, and Noni Madueke. The club is also close to completing the signing of Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera.

The Gunners have been in contact with Eberechi Eze’s agents for two weeks, but formal negotiations with Crystal Palace have yet to begin.

Eze’s £68 million release clause, payable in three installments, may be a sticking point in the negotiations. Arsenal hopes to sign him for less, but if Palace is unwilling to negotiate, the club may look elsewhere.

RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons is reportedly an alternative target for Arsenal. Due to a gentleman’s agreement with Leipzig, Simons could be available for around £60.6 million. The 21-year-old Dutch midfielder is known for his versatility and playmaking ability, making him an attractive prospect for Arsenal.

Eze’s impressive performance last season, including the FA Cup-winning goal against Manchester City, has caught Arsenal’s attention. The 27-year-old seems ready for a new challenge, and Arsenal is eager to sign him. However, if negotiations stall, Simons could become a viable alternative.
