Arsenal considers signing Sevilla’s Lucien Agoumé as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey, whose contract expires next summer.

Arsenal is reportedly monitoring the situation of Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoumé as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey this summer.

The 23-year-old Frenchman has emerged as a possible long-term replacement for Partey, whose future at the Emirates remains uncertain. Agoumé has impressed in La Liga, catching the attention of several European heavyweights, including Manchester United and Barcelona.

Agoumé joined Sevilla on a permanent deal from Inter Milan in 2024 for €4 million after a successful loan stint.

His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is currently €7.6 million, making him a cost-effective option for Arsenal. Sources suggest a deal in the region of £17 million could be possible, although Sevilla’s financial struggles might impact the final fee.

Thomas Partey’s contract expires in June 2025, and extension talks have reportedly stalled due to wage disagreements.

Arsenal is preparing for a potential exit, with Barcelona considering a move for Partey on a free transfer next summer. While no formal approach has been made for Agoumé, Arsenal’s technical team, led by Mikel Arteta, are believed to admire his playing profile.

Agoumé’s playing style is highly compatible with Arteta’s system, particularly in high-stakes matches where transition control is vital.

He is known for his ball-winning ability, tactical discipline, and sharp distribution, making him a suitable replacement for Partey. With his younger age and impressive form, Agoumé could offer a long-term solution for Arsenal’s midfield.

As Arsenal prepares for a potentially transformative summer transfer window, the club is exploring various options to strengthen its squad. Signing Agoumé could be a strategic move, providing a fresh dynamic to the midfield and ensuring the team’s competitiveness in the upcoming season.
