Thomas Partey negotiations continue as four first-team players depart
Arsenal has announced their retained list for the 2025/26 season, and while Thomas Partey’s contract is set to expire, negotiations for an extension are ongoing, with Mikel Arteta keen to keep the midfielder at the club.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have bid farewell to four first-team players, including Kieran Tierney, who is expected to return to Celtic, and Jorginho, who is set to join Brazilian side Flamengo.
Tierney and Jorginho said their goodbyes after Arsenal’s win at Southampton on the final day of the season, and it’s clear that they won’t be part of Arteta’s plans for next season.
Additionally, Neto and Raheem Sterling’s loan deals will come to an end this month, and they’ll return to Bournemouth and Chelsea, respectively.
The club has also released several youth players who weren’t offered contract renewals, making way for new talent to emerge.
With Partey still in negotiations, Arsenal fans will be eager to see if he commits to the club for the long term. Arteta’s plans for the upcoming season will be interesting to watch, especially with the potential arrivals and departures shaping the team’s dynamics.
