We are really sorry for this, really disappointed.” The timing couldn’t be worse for Arsenal, with the Gunners facing North London rivals Tottenham on November 23, followed by a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Gabriel has been in top form for Arsenal, forming a key part of the defense as they top the Premier League table. His absence will be a blow to Mikel Arteta’s side, who have conceded just five goals in 11 league games.
Meanwhile, Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso has revealed that Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has left the international camp due to issues. Calafiori had been following an individual training program for load management and didn’t play in Italy’s World Cup qualifying win over Moldova.
Gattuso praised Calafiori’s commitment, saying, “We tried him, he had a few issues. I thank him for his commitment.” A report mentioned that Calafiori hasn’t returned to Arsenal for treatment.
