Arsenal are set to appoint Maurizio Micheli as part of their recruitment team.
Arsenal are on the verge of signing Maurizio Micheli as part of their recruitment team, with the deal expected to be formally sealed soon.
Who is Maurizio Micheli?
Micheli, who is currently the head of scouting at Napoli, has been identified as a key appointment by Arsenal’s director, Andrea Berta.
Micheli has built a strong reputation in Italian football, playing a crucial role in Napoli’s recent success. His expertise in scouting has earned him recognition, and he’s credited with discovering talented players such as Kvaratskhelia and Sulley Muntari.
The 57-year-old has held various scouting roles across Serie A, including positions at Bologna and Brescia. He originally joined Napoli in 2010 as chief scout and later took on the head of scouting role at Hellas Verona in 2015 before returning to Naples in 2018.
Micheli’s appointment would see him work alongside Arsenal’s technical director, James Ellis, who was promoted to the position earlier this year. Micheli is expected to leave Napoli soon and join Arsenal.
