Arsenal signs Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard for £10m plus add-ons, marking the club’s third signing of the summer.
Arsenal has completed the signing of midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford in a deal worth up to £15m. Norgaard has signed a two-year deal with the option of a third, bringing his experience and expertise to the Emirates Stadium.
The 31-year-old Dane has racked up 122 Premier League appearances for Brentford, showcasing his ability to perform at a high level.
Norgaard’s signing is a strategic move for Arsenal, helping to mitigate the loss of Jorginho’s experience in midfield.
While some supporters might have preferred a younger, more exciting option, Norgaard’s relatively low fee reduces the financial risk of the deal, allowing Arsenal to hold back funds for attacking recruits still needed. The club reportedly considered Sevilla’s 23-year-old midfielder Lucien Agoume as an alternative.
Norgaard’s arrival marks the third signing of the summer for Arsenal, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea and midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The Gunners are continuing to strengthen their squad, with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres reportedly on their radar.
