Arsenal is close to completing the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the deal reportedly nearing completion.
According to many reports, Arsenal is on the verge of signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the deal almost completed.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has a £5m release clause, which Arsenal is expected to trigger this week. Kepa’s signing would see him compete with fellow Spaniard David Raya for the starting spot at the Emirates Stadium.
Kepa’s move to Arsenal comes after the club decided not to pursue a permanent deal with Neto, who spent last season on loan at the Emirates Stadium.
The former Spain international will bring experience and quality to the Arsenal goalkeeping position, having played 163 times for Chelsea and winning four major honors during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge. Kepa also had a successful loan spell at Real Madrid last season, where he won La Liga and the Champions League.
The signing of Kepa would be a significant coup for Arsenal, with the goalkeeper remaining the world’s most expensive signing since joining Chelsea in 2018 for £72m from Athletic Bilbao.
With the deal reportedly nearing completion, Arsenal fans can expect Kepa to don the Gunners’ jersey soon, bringing his expertise and shot-stopping ability to the team.
