If any team could stop Arsenal, it was Chelsea and the Blues showed that they are an underrated side as they drew 1-1 against the league leaders.

Coming into this game, a lot was on the line. Chelsea needed the win to go back to second place and close the gap between themselves and Arsenal while the Gunners needed a win to extend their lead at the top of the table.

In this fierce affair, Chelsea came out guns ablazing against the Premier League leaders. They didn’t look like underdogs and even though they almost went behind early after a shot from Bukayo Saka, the Blues remained solid.

Estevao had the most chances for the Blues in the first half but his shots failed to really trouble Raya.

There was however a twist to the game after Caicedo’s tackle on Mikel Merino was deemed reckless and he was sent off just before halftime.

Coming into the second half, Chelsea didn’t back down. They almost took the lead through Joao Pedro but he was denied by Raya. Chelsea would later take the lead from the resulting corner, with Chalobah heading the ball past Raya and into the net.

Arsenal responded immediately and within 10 minutes, they were level as Merino headed into the back of the net from a Saka cross.

Despite being a man down, Chelsea went pound for pound with Arsenal, making it difficult for the Gunners to break them down.

At the end of the day, it was a well-fought game from both sides.
