Alvaro Arbeloa will start off his Real Madrid tenure against Albacete in the Copa del Rey with heavy rotation.

Madrid travel to second-tier Albacete with Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Aurelien Tchouameni and Alvaro Carreras all left out of the squad. Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo are both injured, joining an extensive list that already includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger.

Mbappe played less than 20 minutes against Barcelona in Jeddah, brought on late in the second half in the hope of an equaliser. But it also meant that the player returned a little sooner than he should have, and may now need a little bit more time on the sidelines to recover.

Arbeloa will be with six youngsters from Real Madrid Castilla: Sergio Mestre, Joan Martinez, David Jimenez, Manuel Angel, Cesar Palacios, and Jorge Cestero. However, the current head coach still has enough first-team firepower in the squad to finish the job, including Vinicius Junior, Gonzalo Garcia, Franco Mastantuono, Arda Guler, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde.
