Brazilian is keen on rejoining Betis despite offers from Saudi Arabia

Real Betis are in advanced talks with Manchester United over a deal for winger Antony, with both clubs optimistic an agreement can be reached before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Negotiations are centred on the structure of the move. United are understood to favour a permanent transfer, while Betis are pushing for an initial loan with either an option or obligation to buy next summer.

Sources close to the situation have described discussions as “positive”, according to ESPN.

Antony spent last season on loan at Betis, where he scored nine goals in 26 appearances and played a key role in helping the club qualify for Europe. The 25-year-old has made clear he would welcome a return to Seville, and Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has pushed for his signing.

The Brazilian did not participate in United’s pre-season plans under Ruben Amorim and has been training separately from the squad, along with Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia.

United are also interesting in raising funds before the deadline in order to improve Amorim’s squad. The club have shown interest in signing a midfielder this summer and there has been reports of concrete talks with Royal Antwerp for goalkeeper Sene Lammens.
